LibreELEC (Jarvis) v7.0.1 noobs respin
The LibreELEC v7.0.1 “noobs” images for Raspberry pi (all versions) were released with a couple of errors which have been corrected. To avoid the confusion of an odd numbered v7.0.1.1 release or rushing v7.0.2 out with only a couple of changes we simply swapped the download files on the server at 5pm GMT today. This exploits the “it didn’t work, so I downloaded the image again and made a new SD card and now it works!” trial and error process most first-time noob(s) users follow.
If you are not using noobs, there’s nothing to see here, move along please 🙂
YAH 🙂
Translation: Rather than admitting that they made a mistake in releasing 7.0.1 with known bugs, they try to hide their mistake by releasing different code with with the same version number, and hoping that nobody notices. My confidence in this fork just dropped quite a bit.
The errors were trivial (not breaking something, but better fixed than left unchanged) and they affect a tiny minority of overall users who use noobs. We corrected the error and then publicly announced the change (also posted to Twitter and Facebook) to ensure there’s nothing hidden. If that knocks your confidence .. oh well.
All well and good but where is the link to download?
https://libreelec.tv/download-temp/ from our site, or you can use the Noobs lite installer from pi-foundation which includes/supports LibreELEC now.
I am using Noobs to install Libreelec for Pi3. How do i select audio option for Hifibery Digi+ board.
https://wiki.libreelec.tv/index.php?title=Config.txt Follow the device tree overlay section in to enable support for the board.
